[ Images ] Glendalough

After booking a morning appointment with the dentist last week I decided to take the remainder of the day off, expecting that I might be a bit delicate if there were any painful consequences to my visit. Thankfully, there was no pain, so I took the opportunity to go for a drive down to Glendalough, something I’d been meaning to do for a while…

The Blues Continue... in B&W

I’m still trawling through old images to get everything into one place and properly keyworded and rated. The purpose of this is to build my first portfolio from the top rated images.

It’s a slow process and as I previously reported about 99% of the images I’ve made are complete and utter rubbish and bound to remain locked up on a hard drive forever.

One positive is that I’m coming across the occasional image that I like. Sometimes they’re still technically shitty photographs, but I’ll like ‘em because of the memories they provoke. Others I like because I think they’re good…

Portfolio Blues

I’m in the process of putting a portfolio together. It’s going to take a while! The first step is to update all my old images to fit the current workflow. That involves renaming folders, importing the images to Lightroom, then rating each image. The ones that get a 3 star rating or more will then have to be retouched.

What makes the process all the more difficult is seeing the amount of shitty photos I’ve taken… 99% of which will never see the light of day.

Every so often, though, I come across something I like that I’d forgotten about. This image is one such example:

And another…

Learn from my mistake here and get a decent workflow in place as soon as possible so you don’t have a digital mess to clean up in the future!!
