Post a Comment I’m not a Robbie Williams fan, but the video below from a recent Nikon Ad is a great example of when you should switch the flash off:
How do you think all those photos turned out?
It’s common for a camera to look upon a dark scene (such as standing in the crowd at a gig/match/event) and determine that it needs a pop of flash to expose the scene correctly. The trouble is, that tiny flash only has the power to light the back of a few heads in front of you.
You’re far better off disabling the flash to get a good shot


A few tips:
The same principle can be applied to low light photography in general. Unless you want to illuminate a subject in very close proximity to the camera, you’re probably better off turning the lights out.
