I had thought that the Calgary winter here would make a get-together somewhat impractical… but it’s been pretty mild, to the point where I’m currently wearing shorts.

In the hope that this weather will continue, I’m going to set a date for the first kick-start in Calgary soon, hopefully for about 4-6 weeks time. The course is free, and intended to give budding photographers the initial knowledge required to get their camera out of the yukky ‘auto’ mode and onto the path of making significantly better images.

Interested? Here’s what you’ll need:

A camera. SLR or any interchange lens camera that gives full manual control

A sense of humour, this is a fun day

Warm clothes, fully charged batteries, water and all the photog questions you can think of that you’d like answered

In the past the course has lasted 4-6 hours, starting with some active shooting and finishing up looking at workflow/editing over a couple of pints at a local watering hole.

The course will either be held Downtown or in the North West (convenient location for me!).

There’s a limit on the amount of people that can attend, so first 12 people to get their names down have themselves a place.

If you have any questions place them into a comment below so everyone can see the answers.

Cheers
